Title : Workshop on Earthquake Disaster Preparedness

The workshop was held on October 13 and 14, 1997, to mark the centenary of the great Assam earthquake of 1897 and was organised as part of the sesquicentennial celebrations of the University of Roorkee. About 70 delegates attended with an aim to propose action to mitigate the disastrous effects of major earthquakes in relation to various types of structures. A special session on the recent Jabalpur earthquake was part of the Workshop. The proceedings of the Workshop were brought out in the form of a printed volume.
