SELECTION AND ADMISSION

    Basis of Selection for Admission

    (a) Candidates approximately 20 times the total number of seats will be selected in order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in Qualifying paper. The marks obtained in Qualifying paper will not be considered in determining the merit for final selection.

    (b) Of the candidates qualified as in (a) above, only those who secure a prescribed minimum percentage of marks or more in total of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers will be eligible for admission to B.E. Courses and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Aptitude Test (PCMA) papers for admission to B.Arch. Course. This minimum percentage of marks for general category will be decided by the Result Committee.

    At both stages (a) and (b) above, the cut off percentage will be lowered by 15% for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Candidates and 5% for Other Backward Class candidates.

    (c) The merit of candidates for final selection to B.E. courses will be determined on the basis of total marks obtained in PCM papers from amongst those found eligible for admission as in (b) above.

    (d) The merit of candidates for final selection to B.Arch. course will be determined on the basis of total marks obtained in PCMA papers from amongst those found eligible as in (b) above.

    (e) The merit of candidates getting equal marks in aggregate will be based on marks obtained by them in the Mathematics paper. Marks in the Mathematics paper being also equal, the marks in the Physics paper will determine the order of merit. Further, in case of such candidates for B.Arch. course, if the marks in Mathematics and Physics papers are also equal, the marks in Chemistry paper will determine the order of merit.

    (f) Admission will be made strictly in Order of Merit and the Preference of Branch given by the candidate at the time of counselling as detailed in Section

    Declaration of Result / Merit List

    The result / merit list of the REE-99 alongwith counselling schedule will be declared on 15th of June 1999 and is likely to be published in New Delhi editions of The Hindustan Times (English) and Hindustan (Hindi). A copy of result / merit list will also be sent to the Superintendents of Examination Centres.

    Intimation Regarding Counselling

    The candidates, after declaration of result / merit list will be asked to report personally for counselling on a specified date and time, in order of merit, to be considered for admission to Bachelor's Degree course in various branches of Engineering and Architecture.

    These candidates will be informed about counselling individually by post at their mailing address given in the application form. The University will not be responsible for non-delivery of letters or any postal delay. The counselling dates and time will also be published in the newspapers alongwith the REE-99 result.

    Request for change of counselling date will not be entertained.
