GENERAL INFORMATION |
ADMISSION PROCEDURE |
The University of Roorkee will be conducting an entrance examination on all India basis to attract the brightest students for admission to the two years full time Master's Degree Course in Business Administration. The University of Roorkee Entrance Examination for Management-99 (REEM-99) will consist of a written test followed by group discussion and interview. The written test will be held on Thursday, May 13, 1999 in 17 cities all over India. The group discussion and interviews will be held for the short-listed candidates at Roorkee on June 1 6 and 17, 1999.
The weightage of written test, group discussion, interview and work experience will be as follows:
Written Test | 65 percent |
Group Discussion | 15 percent |
Interview | 15 percent |
Work experience (on a basis of 4 years) | 05 percent |
The International candidates (Foreign nationals only) will be admitted on the basis of their GMAT score or on the basis of their performance in REEM-99.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS |
The admissions are open to all Indian nationals irrespective of sex, race, creed and class. The foreign nationals will be eligible for admission as per details given below. There is no age restriction for appearing in REEM-99.
For admission to the MBA Programme the candidate must have obtained a Bachelor' s Degree in any discipline from any University recognised by the University Grants Commission, securing a minimum of 60 percent marks in the bachelors degree examination (for General & OBC categories) irrespective of the percentage of marks obtained at postgraduate level, if any. For SC/ST category, a minimum of 55 per cent marks (or equivalent in terms of CGPA grade) is essential. Final year students can also apply. However, they will be required to produce proof of having passed the Bachelor's Degree examination in the required percentage at the time of Group Discussion/Interview/Registration as may be required by the University. No relaxation, whatsoever, will be possible on this account.
NUMBER OF SEATS |
The number of seats is fifty (50). In addition, up to ten (10) seats can be filled by Sponsored/International candidates as per procedure. The University reserves the right to alter the number of seats without notice. Admission will be made strictly in order of Merit, which will be based on the combined score in Written Test, Group Discussion, Interview and Work Experience.
RESERVATION OF SEATS |
Certain number of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to various categor ies.
The candidate is entirely responsible for proving his/her eligibility for claimi ng reservation under any of the above categories.
SPONSORED CANDIDATES |
Candidates having a minimum of two years of full time work experience in a registered Firm/Company/Educational Institute/Research Organisation /Governme nt Department or Autonomous Organisation, are eligible for consideration as Sponsored candidates. The Firm/Company should either be a Public Sector Undertaking or a Public Limited Undertaking registered in a stock exchange or a private concern whose annual turn-over during the past two years exceeds Rs. 5.0 crores.
The Sponsored candidates who meet the above mentioned eligibility condition, along with the eligibility requirements, should apply on prescribed Application Form given in this brochure and appear in the Written Test followed by Group Discussion and Interview. The candidates must bring with them the proof of sponsorship as per proforma at the time of Group Discussion and Interview.
INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES |
International candidates must apply through the Indian Embassy in their respective countries latest by May 30, 1999 along with their GMAT score and personal data. The International candidates will be supplied Information Brochure through in ternational couriers on payment of US $ 100 through Banker's Cheque/Demand Draft payable to 'REEM-99" account from Chairman, REE-99 on a written request.
The International
candidates who are seeking admission to the M.B.A. programme through the
REEM-99, must apply to Chairman, REE-99 by April 5, 1999 and must appear
in Written Test on May 13, 1999 on one of the examination centres.
