The Department has one of the oldest & well established Ph.D . programme in the country. The First batch of Ph.D. came out in the year 1969. So far about 100 candidates have obtained their Ph.D. degree from this Department. They include : the faculty members of the department, teachers from other institutes, full time - research scholars, and foreign students.
